What is MahaDBT Portal?

MahaDBT Portal is a scholarship portal that provides disbursement of scholarships to socially and economically backward students of Maharashtra state. MahaDBT works under the social and welfare department of the Maharashtra government. MahaDBT provides 15 kinds of scholarships, under which 45 schemes provides various scheme that provides monetary aid to privileged students.

Features of the MahaDBT Scholarship Portal

  • The Aaple Sarkar DBT allows citizens to register and apply for state-sponsored scholarships online, from any location and at any time.
  • A unique login ID and password are assigned to each user based on their role.
  • Applicants will receive notifications via SMS and email during various stages of the application process.

Social Justice and Special Assistance Department

SchemeEligibility
Government of India Post-Matric Scholarship1) The parents/Guardian’s annual income shall be less than or equal to Rs. 2,50,000.
2) Student category shall belong to Scheduled caste or Navbouddha
3) Student shall belong to resident of Maharashtra
4) Students should be passed SSC/equivalent Matric.
5) Failure: if student fail first time then should avail Exam fees & maintenance allowance. If fails second time in same class then he/she will not get any allowance and after two drops he will pass and go to next class then he will be eligible.
6) In case of student studying out of Maharashtra then same rules are applicable as per GOI.
7) Only 2 professional Courses are allowed.
Post-Matric Tuition Fee and Examination Fee (Freeship)• The parents / Guardian annual income above Rs. 250000.to unlimited.
• Student category should be Scheduled caste or Neo bouddhist
• Student should be resident of Maharashtra
• Student should be passes SSC/equivalent Matric.
• Institute should be located in Maharashtra & shall be government recognized.
• For Professional Courses student should admit through CAP round only

Rajarshri Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Merit Scholarship.• Student should belong to SC.
• There is no income limit for the Scholarship.
• Students must be Studying in 11th or 12th.
• Students should secure 75% and above in 10th.

Directorate of Higher Education Scholarship Scheme

SchemeEligibility
Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Shikshan Shulkh Shishyavrutti Scheme1. Applicant should be domiciled in Maharashtra, and the applicant belongs to Maharashtra State and Karnataka state border can apply for the scheme.
2. Family annual income limit is up to Rs. 8.00 lakh.
3. As per Government Resolution, two children are eligible for the scheme.
4. Candidate who is admitted under the general category is eligible.
5. Courses from GR 07/10/17 (DHE courses) can apply.
Candidates are eligible for those who have been admitted under the general and SEBC categories.
6. Courses by GR 07/10/17 (DHE courses) can apply.
7. Applicant should not avail of any other scholarship or stipend.
8. Students who have been admitted to Distance Education, virtual learning and part-time courses are not eligible.
The Courses approved by (Government /University/AICTE, PCI/COA/MCI/NCTE/ etc ) are eligible.
9. The candidate should not have a gap of 2 years during the course.
Applicant should attempt every semester or annual exam.
Assistance to Meritorious Students scholarship1. 12th class are eligible who get top rank in secondary and higher secondary examinations.
2. For Renewal:- Junior level students must possess 55% marks and should have admitted to the next class.

4. Maharashtrian Students studying Out of Maharashtra can apply for this scheme.
2) AMS Scholarship (Senior Level) (As Per GR Dated 17.05.1984)
5. The students after the 12th are eligible who get top rank in secondary and higher secondary examinations.
6. For Renewal:- Senior-level students must possess 65% marks and should have admission to the next class.
7. DHE-sanctioned letter.
8. Maharashtrian Students studying Out of Maharashtra can apply for this scheme.
Eklavya Scholarship1. Students must graduate from Law, Commerce & Arts having 60% marks, and for Science, students must have 70%.
2. Annual income of the applicant’s parents should be less than/equal to Rs. 75,000/- limit.
3. The applicant must be a resident of Maharashtra State.
The beneficiary should not do a part-time or full-time job anywhere.
4. Maharashtrian Students studying Out of Maharashtra cannot apply for this scheme.
Dr Punjabrao Deshmukh Vasatigruh Nirvah Bhatta Yojna (DHE)1. Applicant should be a Domicile of Maharashtra.
2. For professional courses, the Applicant should be a child of registered labour, a child of Alpabhudarak or both, as the total annual income of the family/ Guardian should not be more than 8. lakh.
3. For Non-Professional Courses, the applicant should have up to 1 lakh family Annual Income.
4. Applicant should submit Family Annual Income Certificate.
As per Government Resolution, the first two children are eligible for the scheme. Candidates are eligible for those who have been admitted under the general and SEBC categories.
5. Courses by GR 07/10/17 (DHE courses) can apply.
6. Applicant should be a hosteller. (Govt/Private hostel/ Paying Guest/ Tenant.)
7. Applicant should not avail of any other Nirvah Bhatta benefit.
8. Courses approved by (Govt/AICTE, PCI/COA/MCI/NCTE/University etc.) are eligible.

Department of Technical Education Scholarship Schemes

Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Shikshan Shulkh Shishyavrutti Yojna(As per the GR Dated 07th Oct 2017,01st March 2018, 31st March 2018, 11.07.2019)
a) Applicant should have a Nationality of India.
b) Candidate should be a Domicile in Maharashtra State.
c) Applicant should be a” Bonafide Student of the Institute” and admitted for Professional and Technical courses (Diploma / Graduation / Post Graduation Degree) as mentioned in GR
d) Deemed University and Private university is not applicable
e) Candidate should be admitted through Centralized Admission Process (CAP).
f) Applicant should not avail of any other scholarship/stipend.
g) For the current Academic Year, Only 2 children from the family are allowed the scheme’s benefit.
h) The Total Annual Income of the Family / Guardian should not be more than 8 Lakhs.
i) Minimum 50 % attendance in the previous semester (Exception for fresh admission in College).
j) During the course duration, the candidate should not have a gap of 2 or more 2 years.
k) Candidates are eligible for those admitted under the General and SEBC categories.
Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Vasatigruh Nirvah Bhatta Yojna.Eligibility Criteria: (As per the GR Dated 07th Oct 2017, 22nd Feb 2018 , 01st March 2018, 18th June 2018, 11th July 2019 )
a) Applicant should have a Nationality of India.
b) Candidate should be a Domicile in Maharashtra State.
c) Applicant should be a” Bonafide Student of the Institute” and admitted for Professional and Technical courses (Diploma / Graduation / Post Graduation Degree) as mentioned in GR
d) Deemed University and Private university is not applicable
e) Candidate should be admitted through Centralized Admission Process (CAP).

Tuition Fees and Examination Fees to VJNT Students.1) Applicant must be taking post matric education.
2) Applicant should be belongs to VJNT category.
3) Parent’s annual income should be less than or equal to 8.00 Lacs.
4) Applicants must be residents of Maharashtra.
5) Applicants should be pursuing the education course approved by the government for Post Matric courses.
6) Applicant must be taken admission in government government aided / Private Non-Aided / private permanently non aided for professional courses
7) Degree Courses in Health Science(Medical, Dental, Homeopathy, Unani, Ayurveda, Physiotherapy, Business Aid, Nursing) :
If Applicant is admitted through Association of Managements of Unaided Private Medical and Dental Colleges entrance examination or admitted through government common entrance examination then he/she will be eligible the for the freeship.
8) Higher and Technical Education Department :
Freeship will be applicable to unaided colleges / government and aided colleges with technical education / Polytechnic and government unaided professional courses.
Following are the applicable courses for this scheme :
• Diploma – Engineering, Pharmacology, HMCT
• Degree – Engineering, Pharmacology, HMCT
• Post Graduate –MBA/MMS, MCA

Suppose the Applicant is admitted through the Association of Managements of Unaided Private Medical and Dental Colleges entrance examination or the government joint entrance examination. In that case, he/she will be eligible for freeship.

Rajarshri Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Fee Reimbursement Scheme.1. For MBBS/BDS and other courses candidates who’s Family’s annual income < Rs.8,00,000.
2. Candidates are eligible those who have taken an admission under General category and SEBC Category
Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Hostel Maintenance Allowance.1. For students admitted for MBBS, BDS,BAMS, BHMS, BPTH, BOTH,B.SC Nursing, BUMS, BP & O, BASLP in government-aided/Corporation/Private un-aided colleges.
Family’s Annual income is less than equal to Rs.8,00,000 .
2. For students whose parents are Alpabhudharak Shetkari/registered labourers. Hostel maintenance allowance for students with annual income less than 1, 00,000: Rs.3000 per year for Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Aurangabad and Rs.2000 per year for other locations.(for 10 months in an academic year).
3. Hostel maintenance allowance for students whose parents are Aplabhudharak shetkari /Registered Labourers: Rs.30,000 per year for Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, and Aurangabad and Rs.20,000 per year for other locations(for 10 months in an academic year).
4. Not applicable for students pursuing admission through management quota/Institute level.
5. Students who have taken hostel admission in Mumbai, Pune ,Aurangabad, Nagpur or other locations in Maharashtra.
6. Candidates are eligible those who have taken admission under the General category and SEBC Category
Education Fee reimbursement for open-category students affected due to SEBC and EWS reservations in medical and Dental colleges1. Applicant should belong to Open category. (Total of 112 applicants are going to take benefit of this scheme)
2. Applicant should have taken admission through CAP.
3. No scholarship for Management Quota Admission.
4. No Income criteria check for this scheme.
5. Applicant should be domiciled in Maharashtra.
6. Deemed university students are not applicable for this scheme.

7. Failure in the academic year, misconduct, not fulfilling attendance criteria. If found, the candidate will not be eligible.

MahaDBt Scholarship Application Submission Steps

  1. Visit the official website of MahaDBT. The official website of MahaDBT is mahadbtmahait.gov.in
  2. Click on “New Applicant Registration”
  3. Register by filling in your name, mobile number and email id and generate your username and password.
  4. Login to your dashboard using your new login username and password.
  5. The process with the biometric aadhar verification.
  6. Complete your profile details with your details as well as academic details.
  7. Once you complete your profile details, you can apply to your eligible schemes.

It would be best to keep your username and password safe. You will need your password and username until you have completed your scholarship form throughout your academics.

MahaDBT site is not working?

Currently, the Mahadbt website is having an expired SSL certificate issue. Such an issue occurs when any SSL certificate of any website got expires. So, in this case, we can see that opening the mahadbt website shows us a warning that “Your Connection is not Private”. So if you have to process your application form submission, then follow the below steps:

Forgot MahaDBT username or password?

It’s very tedious to recover login details. So I always remind students to keep their passwords and username safe. I also advise students to write it down any dairy so that they will not forget about their login username and password. But still, in any case, if you forgot your login details, then follow the below steps:

  1. Visit forget username/password page. To visit, click here.
  2. Enter your username/mobile number and click on ‘GET OTP‘
  3. You will get OTP on your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP in the box.
  4. Set a new password and confirm it by re-entering.
